Markon First Crop (MFC) Fresh-Run Onions are being shipped out of Idaho, Oregon, Utah, and Washington.

• Pack-out size continues to be dominated by medium and jumbo sizes; colossal and super colossal onions remain limited
• Sizing is gradually beginning to increase as harvesting moves forward and suppliers pack onions planted at later dates
• There is a price gap of $5.00 to $7.00 between yellow medium and yellow jumbo onions; medium-size yellow onions may make a viable substitution for No. 2 jumbo yellows
• Growers will begin to pack and ship onions out of storage in early October
• New crop onions have a rounder, more globe-like shape than supplies shipped during the summer months; early season supplies will still exhibit thin, light-colored skins until shipped out of storage
