FROM THE FIELDS: DESERT REGION COLD WEATHER TREND

November 14, 2024

The Arizona/California desert region has experienced lower-than-normal temperatures this week, with sporadic lettuce ice developing in some areas today. The forecast calls for morning temperatures to drop into the 30s by Saturday, November 16, possibly allowing more extensive lettuce ice to develop.

The impact of these lower temperatures may include:

  • Delayed plant maturity
  • Dehydration
  • Limited supplies
  • Rising prices

Markon inspectors will continue monitoring supplies and update further as the desert season ramps up.
