The Arizona/California desert season will wrap up this week. Offshore Central American melons have begun arriving into domestic ports. Expect pricing for offshore fruit to be higher than markets for domestic fruit. The domestic Markon First Crop (MFC) Cantaloupe and Honeydew season will end this week. Packer label melons will ship for the import season.
Cantaloupe
Arizona/California

Central American/Mexican
- Markon will avoid shipping Mexican cantaloupes
- Offshore shipments of Central American cantaloupes have begun arriving into Southern Florida
- Initial shipments of offshore cantaloupes will begin arriving into Northeastern and West Coast ports next week
- Expect low volume next week
- Supplies will increase by the week of December 9
- Prices will climb as the transition to offshore fruit takes place
Honeydew
Arizona/California
- The California/Arizona desert season will finish this week
- Prices are rising
Central American/Mexican
- Mexican supplies will be available for loading in Nogales, Arizona until late December
- Offshore shipments of Central American honeydews have begun arriving into Southern Florida
- Initial shipments of offshore honeydews will begin arriving into Northeastern and West Coast ports next week
