- Widespread lettuce ice developed this morning as temperatures dropped into the upper 20°s to low 30°s
- Harvesting crews for lettuce and other crops were delayed, today, December 16, up to three hours or until heads fully thawed
- Forecasts are calling for more cold weather and lettuce ice over the next few days
- Harvesting and loading delays can be expected through early next week
- No immediate quality impact is expected, but Markon inspectors will be monitoring for ice-related challenges in the days ahead
