Receiving Inspecting:

Horseradish root should be firm, with well-shaped roots. Avoid product that appears soft or shriveled.

Storage Handling:

Short-term storage recommendation (7 days or less)

  • 32-36° F/0-2° C
  • 90-98% relative humidity
10 to 14 days.

Horseradish roots may turn green if exposed to light. For best quality, store in a dark area.

Storing product in an area with low humidity may promote deterioration. Store properly.

Usage Ideas:

  • Stir grated horseradish root into crème fraiche; serve with roast beef, roasted potatoes, beets, and salmon.
  • Add grated horseradish root to sweet butter; serve molded pats with fish and potatoes.
