Tropical Storm Helene is expected to become a hurricane by Wednesday morning, September 25, and quickly become a category 3 hurricane. Its current trajectory indicates landfall in the Florida panhandle on Thursday night, September 26.
- Hurricane Helene is expected to move over the Georgia growing region on Thursday night into Friday morning
- South Georgia is expecting four to six inches of rain Thursday night into Friday morning; the fall harvesting season has started so Markon will be monitoring the fields closely, but do not expect major damages or flooding
- Florida’s northern growing regions are currently not expecting significant impact from Hurricane Helene either
