Hurricane Helene has become a category 2 storm and is on track to become a category 3, possibly a category 4, before making landfall tonight.

• Hurricane Helene is expected to move over the Georgia growing region tonight into tomorrow morning
• South Georgia has had two to five inches of rain already with another four to six inches expected; winds gusts are expected to exceed 65mph
• Some crop damage is expected based on current weather forecasts
• Florida’s northern growing regions are currently not expecting significant impacts
