Mandarin orange season is in full swing; domestic supplies will ship through early June. Mandarins are a part of the easy-to-peel orange family.

• External color is deep orange with smooth glossy skins; they are smaller with a flatter shape compared to Navel oranges
• Their thinner, looser rinds make peeling easy
• Growers are currently harvesting in California’s D1 region (San Joaquin Valley) through early June; export fruit will be shipped thereafter
• Two 40-count pieces meet the school requirement for the ½ cup serving size
• Quality is excellent; supplies are ample
