The New Mexico summer season for Markon First Crop (MFC) Onions will conclude this week.  MFC Red and Yellow Onions are readily available in the Northwest.   

• MFC Yellow Onions will remain available in California’s San Joaquin Valley through the end of August; red onions have been depleted  
• In the Northwest, MFC Onions are being shipped out of Idaho, Oregon, and Washington  
• Utah-grown MFC Onions will hit the market next week
• Colorado supplies are now being shipped
• Onions out of the Northwest will have a rounder, more globe-like shape than stocks shipped during the spring/summer months; early season stocks will still exhibit thin, light-colored skins until shipped out of storage
